Atheist Song of the Week #10 – White Wine in the Sun by Tim Minchin

My Atheist Song of the Week for Christmas Day has to be Tim Minchin with White Wine in the Sun. Happy Christmas!

“I’m not expecting big presents
The old combination of socks, jocks and chocolates
is just fine by me
Cos I’ll be seeing my dad
My brother and sisters, my gran and my mum
They’ll be drinking white wine in the sun.”

See also my regularly updated list of video links to 200 Atheist Songs from an eclectic range of artists and genres. They don’t all promote atheism, but they should all make you think or laugh or both. More suggestions welcome.

  1. This (White Wine in the Sun) along with Lennon’s “Imagine” are, IMHO, the best of the lot. Both with melodies that are immediately appealing AND memorable, along with lyrics both sweetly sentimental and inspiring. I don’t find any of the those listed, or other atheist themed songs with which I’m familiar, to be of quite the same overall caliber.
